Funded by  the projet "ERC AG LAUDARE ZIMEI

This doctoral scholarship is open to graduates in philological-literary disciplines with musical competences and graduates in musicological disciplines with literary competences. It aims to investigate the old, functional connection between music and poetry in the context of the lauda tradition. The Italian lauda tradition is considered the most suitable of the manuscripts ones to reflect the conditions of use, transmission modalities, and social impact of sung verse in historical reality. The research, which will be based on an interdisciplinary approach, will focus on repertoire analysis, the interference between orality and writing, performance aspects, and other related themes.
