2 Doctoral Scholarships: "Sacred and Profane Power in the Middle Ages and Modern Era: A Millennium Since the Founding of the Prince-Bishopric of Trento (1027-2027)"
The selected project must be dedicated to the study of temporal powers exercised by ecclesiastical authorities or, more generally, to the relationship between sacred and profane powers, within the chronological span from the High Middle Ages to the threshold of the 19th century. Proposals may consider political-institutional, religious and ecclesiastical, social, and economic aspects connected to the theme. While proposals can refer to realities existing in Christian Europe within the considered chronological span or part thereof, those that dedicate their analysis to the prince-bishoprics of the Alpine area will be given particular consideration.
The two doctoral scholarships are funded by the Autonomous Province of Trento.
